About Us
Sobek & Schnurl
Sobek — aka Victor Sobki — is co-founder of Sobek & Schnurl and a renowned Egyptian architect and interior designer, whose work bridges oriental elegance, Art Deco and modern flair.
Schnurl — aka Caroline Carnbring — is Austrian with Swedish roots and the other half of Sobek & Schnurl. She fell under the spell of Egypt’s artistry through Victor’s passion. She now designs the kilims, carrying these traditions into homes from Vienna to Cairo and beyond.
Our logo — a lotus rising from the Nile — speaks of uniting worlds: modern and ancient, Orient and Occident, the Nile and the Danube. Seemingly far apart, yet deeply connected: both rivers flow through cultural crossroads, nurture artisanship, and continue to inspire contemporary creations.
